    We ran a growing streaming platform on Vimeo. We paid $75,000 a year and got surprise data and livestream charges. Support replies took four to six weeks. Our account rep changed every few months. Every customization request got a no.

    We tried the alternatives.

    Brightcove was excellent, and too expensive. An overseas developer, chosen on budget, promised a custom app and delivered a ten-year-old template. It didn't work on new phones. It still doesn't work on Roku.
